I am not a Pinterest mom. If you’re coming here looking for healthy recipes and adorable art projects to do with your kids…. this might not be the blog for you. If you’re looking to commiserate with another frazzled mom about how awful the kids are by day but sooooo cute and cherish every moment by night… this might not be the blog for you.

I am a regular woman. A mom with a sense of humor, who loves wine & cheese and is learning how to be my best, most empowered, badass self. I won’t be posting perfect, idealistic pictures where my table settings look like a magazine. If I post a table setting, it will have a kid photo bombing in the corner, a mess in the background and the floor will probably be covered in legos. I might crop the legos out, but that’s probably about it.

I ascribe to the idea that the priority list includes me. And I’m pretty high on that list these days because nobody is happy when I’m at the bottom. or hell, at times I’ve been off the list entirely! I live by the belief that everything is fixable and that mistakes are ok. (it’s taken me a long time to be ok with mistakes btw, and it’s something that I still have to actively remind myself). I parent with the understanding that my kids are going to be ok and that if I mess up too badly, I can always apologize and make amends. I embrace badassery in all its forms- whether it’s in my makeup, my accessories, my values and what I have to say to the world. I believe you have to take care of you before you take care of anyone else.

Life can be messy, but that doesn’t make you a mess. Life can be crazy, but that doesn’t mean you have to be crazy along with it. Pick out what you need, what matters to you and leave the rest behind. You are in control of that. You have the power to turn off or shine a light on what you want. Shed the burdens and live your best life. If 2020 has taught me anything, it’s all of that.

Welcome to my empowered life in progress and I hope you find joy, laughs and ideas for yourself in this blog!
